About Us

This Industrial Energy Efficiency Database (IEEDb) is part of the implementation of the UNIDO-GEF project: “Improving Nigeria's Industrial Energy Performance & Resource Efficient Cleaner Production through Programmatic Approaches & the Promotion of Innovation in Clean Technology Solutions (NGN IEE-RECP Project)”. It was developed to track, gather, analyze and thereby generate insights.

The IEEDb was developed to accommodate data collected from selected manufacturing industries covering the following sub-sectors: steel, petrochemical, textile, wood and furniture; and food and beverages. The companies were selected from four zones: North (Abuja, Kaduna, Kano); West (Ogun, Lagos) South (Warri, Sapele, Port Harcourt) and East (Onitsha)

The UNIDO – GEF IEE-RECP Project

In collaboration with the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (M.A.N) are spearheading the "UNIDO-GEF project: “Improving Nigeria's Industrial Energy Performance & Resource Efficient Cleaner Production through Programmatic Approaches & the Promotion of Innovation in Clean Technology Solutions (NGN IEE-RECP Project)."

This initiative aims to boost industrial energy efficiency, foster resource-efficient and cleaner production practices, and drive innovation in clean technology solutions within various industrial enterprises across Nigeria. The project focuses on enhancing energy efficiency, optimizing materials, water, and chemicals usage, while contributing to environmental sustainability, improved energy access, and industrial financial performance.
